Our class schedule rotates and changes based on holidays, events, workshops and other community events. Because of this, we highly recommend you use our online class registration system - which will provide you with up-to-the-minute scheduling. Weekly Tai Ji Class 
Wednesdays from 9:30am-10:30am
Tai Ji, a form of martial art, originates from ancient China. It is practiced throughout the world as an effective exercise for health. Tai Ji consists of fluid, gentle movements that are relaxed and slow in tempo. It can be practiced almost anywhere and is a suitable form of exercise for just about anyone.

The moving meditation of Tai Ji integrates mind and body and spirit. It can help build balance and coordination, improve mental acuity and strengthen the mind/body connection. According to the British Journal of Sports Medicine, Tai Ji helps improve metabolic rate, heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen uptake, immune capacity, and fall prevention.

Tai Ji classes are movement oriented with a mix of body alignment/awareness, Qi Gong integrated breathing exercises, Tai Ji principles and Tai Ji forms.

About the instructor:

Pam Landes been practicing Tai Ji for 20+ years. She has taught Tai Ji and Qi Gong for 5+ years and is certified as an instructor to Tai Ji for Arthritis. Pam’s classes blend the yin and yang of playfulness and discipline with a focus on freeing and directing the flow of chi.

The following is a brief list of the classes and workshops you will find at Bodhi Tree Yoga & Wellness Studio. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact us or use our FAQ's page for more information. Be sure to check out our online class registration portal to sign up for the event or class of your choice! (Please note, young adults ages 16-18 need signed, parental consent to join our classes)    

All Levels -  Something for everyone from beginner to advanced yogis
Level 1 -  These classes are intended for new students needing an introduction to the basics of alignment in yoga, but are also appropriate for continuing students who enjoy a slower pace. Level 1 classes generally offer more guidance in modifications to accommodate a variety of physical challenges that may limit your movement.
Level 1-2 - For students who have attended Level 1 classes and are ready for a more advanced beginning class.  The basic postures are presented in more challenging ways with a focus on the fundamentals of yoga.
Level 2 - Classes are intended for a moderately experienced student. Instructors will continue to offer guidance and insight into proper form, but the class is generally more challenging, often with a faster pace than the Level 1-2 classes. You may encounter more intricate balancing poses, deeper openers, some arm-balances, and you will be encouraged to build strength through longer holds.  Level 2 classes will help you take your practice to a whole new level.
Level 2-3 - These classes presume students are familiar with intermediate yoga postures (including inversions and backbends).  In these classes you will use your knowledge of postures and breathing to practice exciting, physically demanding and challenging sequences and variations.  The pace of these classes is faster, you will go deeper and your instructor will help you achieve breakthroughs in your practice and your self-awareness.

                                                      Class Descriptions

Beginning Vinyasa Flow Yoga - Approaching the flow of vinyasa gently, if new or new again to yoga, you will enjoy the refreshing ease into opening. Descriptive anatomical and physiological references walk you through the process.  All levels welcome and encouraged

Chair Yoga -
will incorporate movements and breathing exercises designed to assist with relaxation and increase mobility, balance, and strength. A chair and other props will be used to safely modify this yoga class for all fitness and mobility levels. This class is a great gentle option for those who use a cane or walker, have limited mobility , or have recent injuries.  All levels welcomed and encouraged

Gentle Yoga - This class is designed with every "body" in mind. It will be appropriate for those who want a softer, nurturing, slow paced, well supported and relaxing practice. This class will include carefully orchestrated movement, controlled pressure and well measured stretches. The postures will be approached in gradual steps with plenty of time to focus on breathing and repetition. Gentle Yoga will encourage an individualized approach to your practice. This will be a compassionate, non-competitive environment that is welcoming to all.  All levels welcome and encouraged

Give Back Sunday Community Yoga -  $5.00 class and proceeds will be donated to the charity of the month.  Taught by rotating instructors.   All levels welcome and encouraged

Hatha Yoga - This classical style yoga class with a playful sensibility will increase strength and flexibility. Fundamental yoga poses will be taught with an emphasis on proper alignment.  A typical class will include breath-work, exploration of several poses, and a flow sequence.  Level 1-2 

Lunchtime Yoga -  
This class will leave you relaxed and refreshed with the extra energy to get you through the rest of your day! Lunchtime yoga is a great way to kick start your mind to focus on the future tasks at hand.  (45 minutes)  All Levels welcome and encouraged

Qigong / Tai Chi Easy - Practice some simple, age old exercises done in short synergistic sequences. Explore how small definitive movements, synchronized with breathing, restore the flow of Chi (energy) throughout our bodies while unblocking areas of stress and dis-ease. Experience meditative movements that enhance range of motion, balance, stability, strength, flexibility and posture. Once learned, these compartmentalized exercise snippets become yours! Yours to add to your wellness regime to take wherever you go and do whenever you please!  All Levels welcome and encouraged

Restorative Yoga - Let me hold space and guide you through some gentle yet powerful poses for your body, mind and spirit.Through these postures you will be seeking and finding balance.  This balance will recharge, refresh and rejuvenate you.  Restorative Yoga is an antidote to stress.  Please come and try this effective yet simple way to connect to your true nature.  Aahhh!  You will smile all the way home!

Vinyasa Flow Yoga - Instructs participant's proper breathing, alignment, and engagement. This is a rhythmic, compounding class that adapts to progress. Accommodating to varying fitness levels, this Vinyasa style yoga class provides whole body stimulation and deep stretching. This class closes with a meditation that allows you to slow your breath, quiet your mind, and find peace.  Level 1-2

Vinyasa Flow 2 Yoga
- Recommended for students with at least 6 months of yoga experience or those in good physical condition with 3 months experience.  This class focuses on vinyasa style yoga (connecting breath to movement) building heat strength and flexibility.  Challenging postures are explored in depth including balancings, inversions and backbends.   The teacher may encourage the student to be responsible for taking rests and modifications as needed.  Level 2

Vin Yin Yoga - This practice is 1/2 Vinyasa, 1/2 Yin yoga. It will begin with a slower paced, meditative, breath-led Vinyasa flow (the yang aspect or solar).  You will direct your focus inward taking your time to feel yourself internally aligning while building heat, endurance, and strength and increasing circulation. As we delve into a deeper level of awareness we will take our practice down to the floor for a yin practice, (the lunar aspect) targeting the connective tissue of the hip, pelvis and lower spine. We will also work on opening and releasing tension in the shoulders. By balancing the solar and the lunar – strength and receptivity – you will find clarity, wholeness and deep peace.  Level 1-2

Wave Yoga -
Sadie Nardini teaches what she calls core vinyasa flow yoga - a wave like way of transitioning from one pose to the next, the movement originating from the lower abs all the way up the body.  It is very strengthening yet gentle, and particularly removes strain and pain in the lumbar spine.  "When I first experienced these wave-like movements, I was amazed that the pain I had been experiencing in certain poses was no longer there.  I love to share "the wave" as it also creates more space in the body for the energy to flow freely." -Ginjah Knuth    Level 2

Yogi's Choice - This class is instructor's choice!  All classes are designed to leave you feeling invigorated, refreshed, and restored. Several genres may be taught in this class or just one!  Including Gentle Flow, Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Restorative, or Yin.  Always changing and always fun!

Yoga Basics I for Beginners Series - 6 weeks

If you are brand new to yoga or want to reconnect with the basics, the Yoga Basics I for Beginners Series is the perfect class for you and it’s always a great time to start! Come and enjoy a supportive and compassionate environment where everyone is a beginner.  We will explore basic postures (asana) to get you moving and breathing techniques (pranayama) to deepen your breath capacity. You will learn yogic terminology, discover meditation practices to quiet the chatter of your mind, release stress, and gain insight into the principles of yoga philosophy. Our intention in the Yoga Basics I Series is to help you develop a lifelong love for yoga. Each week we will explore a new dimension of the practice. Therapeutic alignment, details, and special needs will be addressed as you learn to use props that aid in the practice and modifications of new postures. Props are a great tool to help your body explore this ancient and transformative practice.  Your questions are encouraged and serve to help others in the class gain a deeper understanding. So please don’t be afraid to ask!
The supportive and compassionate environment of this series will provide you with the necessary foundation to develop a safe and rewarding yoga practice. Walk in a beginner and leave confident to explore the next phase of your practice!  
What you need to know for your first class: Wear loose, comfortable clothing that you can move and stretch in, bring a no sweat  water bottle (optional) and yoga mat. Don't have a yoga mat? No problem, we have extra for you to use! All other props will be provided for your use during class.

Yoga Basics II Series - 6 weeks

This series is designed for beginning yoga students who wish to continue to deepen their yoga practice.  This 6-week series will give you the opportunity to explore new practices, to revisit postures learned in Yoga Basics I and to take your practice to the next level. This class is perfect for those who have taken Yoga Basics I and want a slower-paced class, as well as anyone who wants to slow their practice way down to focus on the nuances of the poses.  Our instructors strive to create a safe and welcoming yoga community for all, and to demystify the practice of yoga.  Previous yoga experience is necessary for this series.

Series Payment/Refund Policy:
 Refunds (full or partial) are not available for any series as your full series payment reserves your spot for the entire series, and the teacher is paid for your spot whether you are in attendance or not. Refunds will only be given if series gets cancelled.  Considerations may be made for emergency/sickness.  There are no make-up dates or pro-rated refunds for classes missed.  There will only be a makeup date for a class cancelled due to weather.
